Dumpster diving AV style...

We normally steer clear of most hotel party food but these leftovers were too good to pass up! The hotel staff told us to go for it because it was all going to be thrown away. We can't let that happen, right? We created enough of a scene that even the Microsoft people jumped in on the action...

I was digg'n the hummus

Ed, our driver, had to go low for the spinach dip... hey, it was even still warm!

Pumpkin time!!

Yes, it's that time of year again to head out to the pumpkin farm for a pony ride or two and pick out the best pumpkins we can find.
Man I love this time of year.

Halloween Doug

An artist friend of mine in Ohio graced me with a few Photoshopped Halloween versions of some stock Doug shots...

nice job Jerry!

Happy 45th!

My In-laws, Paul & Carole had all 5 of their kids (it's been quite a while) along with family to celebrate 45 years of marriage. I was very fortunate indeed to be included in on the festivities.

California...

I have three shows out here. Anaheim, Santa Clara and San Francisco.
Anaheim? done and set up for Santa Clara today. This is the Virtualization tour.
Don't ask I sat through the sessions and still don't get it. YEAH DOUG! ( I will not be assimilated). No good stories, this is just what's occupying my time.

I did go to a Sushi house a couple of blocks from my hotel last night, interesting.
There is a wasabi etiquette that I have been doing it wrong on.
I was told by a sushi expert that putting wasabi in my soy and mixing it up was for sushi posers. This place last night had three other tables with actual Japanese people sitting down for meals. In fact I was the only round eye there...
We all arrived a the same time so I was going to watch what they did... all three tables of people put wasabi in their soy. I'm NOT a poser after all!

Hopefully something fun will happen on the road but hanging with MS geeks doesn't offer much to write about.
I will try and write about my sound guy on this tour. Will Zimmerman. He has produced and played for Gladys Night and toured 2 years with LL Cool J playing sax in his band.
A very laid back and wonderful man. I'll pump him for info and try and get a story out of him.

Just Olives please...

I sure have my fair share of Amelia pictures only because I spend more time with her.
Olive is coming into her own and will soon be up to the task of entertaining me more.
Spending time with these kids keeps me younger than my already fine tuned 7th grade mentality.

I'M MOLDY!!

My buddy Pat picked up my guitar today and strummed a bit. After inspecting my rig he announced that I had mold growing inside, not your green kind of bread mold but a mold that looks like a little dust pile. I am fanatical about keeping humidity in my guitar but I guess I have let those little spores go unchecked. Mold actually eats the cellulose in the wood. I had no idea. I have to go after the little buggers with a diluted bleach solution per Pat's direction.

(Pat owns a commercial property inspection business and teaches mold identification seminars at hospitals and such.)

Today's Concert...

I am usually not a fan of people posting their own recorded covers of songs but...

These two are so charming. The performances are wonderful and I am drawn to her voice like a moth to the proverbial flame thrower.

Enjoy!

I think here she sings Joni almost better than Joni sings Joni.
