A new diploma...

Well I needed to try and find a part time gig to try and get some income into this sinking family economy.
I took a little of our money that Kim gave me to buy food and instead I bought some magic beans. After thirty two hours of lectures and rail time, the instructor said I was ready to test. This morning I passed my drink making speed test. By noon I passed my written test. By 1pm I had my bar tending diploma in my hand. Now let's see if I can get a restaurant to give me some hours.

We'll see where this goes...

*EDIT*

I am now tending at Palmer Place in LaGrange for at least the Summer.
Not a bad Birthday present.

Mommy Nugget...

This is crazy,

Nugget became broody about a week ago. Kim got on the phone and offered "egg sitting" services to a rare breed chicken operation not too far from here. They didn't need us so Kim called the guy who gave us Nugget to begin with and asked if he needed her.
As it turned out, he did. Nugget is now sitting on two, yes two Peacock eggs...

What a good mom.

More as the eggs cook.

Easter Weekend...

What a busy time for the both of us. Usually me with music and Kim responsible for making sure her Church is decorated, so most years the afternoon is celebrated and revered nap time. I didn't nap this year but went over to play with the girls.
A very laid back day. We had 8 tunes this year, I am so fortunate to be in this particular band!

OH BOY! A RANT!

What the heck is with theater ticket prices??
I thought it would be fun to try and take Amelia to see Mary Poppins.
Nose bleed crap ticket prices? 70+ Main floor? 400+
Let's price a show so high that the common folks can't go.
400+ per ticket? Are they out of their minds?
The show "Rent" at least is trying to throw a few bones here.
Show policy for the 2 week run at the Oriental Theater.

1. A select number of tickets in the first two rows will be released two (2) hours prior to curtain.
2. Tickets are $22.50, cash only.
3. Limit two (2) tickets per person.
4. Do not block doorways while in line.
5. No saving spaces in line.
6. No overnight camping allowed.

At least they are trying.
