Another long week and IT AINT OVER!

Well today is my anniversary and I just woke up in a hotel somewhere in Georgia on my way to the last show of the week in Nashville. Sorry Kim I know we had a wonderful meal over the last weekend but it's just not the same. I know you said it was ok but it's not. Okay side note over. We did our last big event in Atlanta this week, the rest are smaller shows that we call "Standard" events. This is my last week promoting the server software. I am doing a show for another company in Miami next week and then I am doing a small 8 city tour for MS targeting CIO's and such. It will feel like a vacation compared to this tour.
I had John Austin as a tech on this tour and he set up a song writing session with Pat Terry. Pat is one of the founders of contemporary Christian music. When I was a kid I would watch his videos on TV and pretend I was in his band. It was a trio and they wore cool leather vests. I have 3 of his albums on vinyl. On the way out of Atlanta we set up a drop off for John on the north side of Atlanta. So here it is 10 pm in a parking lot of a Zaxby's chicken and I'm shaking hands with Pat Terry. What a surreal moment.
Very cool for me, you'll just have to trust me.
Here are a few shots from Atlanta. I know you are sick of them but this is all I have been doing...sorry.
On to Nashville...

We dubbed our area "Video Village" The empty seat is my video switching area.

No pics of Pat, I was trying to be cool...

Trickle over...

Illinois people make fun of Iowa people.
Iowa people make fun of Nebraska people.
I just make fun of people that dress goofy.
It's not trickle down but trickle over syndrome, well except the dress goofy part, that's just mean. I am currently in Des Moines. a few days ago I was in Omaha and we found a great foodery called Upstream Brewery The beer was great and the food was very tasty...hmmm, Nebraska may not be so bad. Here in Des Moines we got a tip on El Bait Shop, an amazing bar with over 100 beers on tap. Now this place also happens to sling BBQ and the sweet smell of smoke lured us right in. After trying a local Iowa IPA (very good) Dan and myself both ordered the Barbacoa Chimi. A chimichanga made with smoked meat. I have declared this the best chimi I have ever eaten. Joe our truck driver is a large man. He ordered the all you can eat tacos not realizing there was a record on the wall. Scott Kauffman 25 tacos. "I can beat that" well sorry Scotty, he did...

The week in review...

Well we're not going to talk about taxes so I guess I'll mention what else happened.
Only on MS show this week and that was in Madison. Sorry dear too smart Nephew, I had no time to buy you a beer this trip either. I will make it up to you, I promise.
The show went off just fine, nothing to mention there. After the show we went to a local Irish watering hole to celebrate one of our crew member's birthday. It was trivia night and we played as we ate. After 2 rounds of 9 questions each it wound up that we won. A 50 dollar gift card and an appetizer party for 10. We promptly handed our winnings over to the birthday boy for he has one of the franchise restaurants in his town. It was meant to be. Thank goodness for useless bits of information lingering in our brains. It finally paid off!
I got home Friday night knowing I have to leave again Sunday morning for next weeks shows. With that lingering in my head I needed some toddler time to lift my spirits.
I picked Amelia up this morning to take her to breakfast and then over to Willowbrook where Kim was working. She showed Amelia bunnies and rats. The little kid was totally into the whole experience. What a great morning. After that we went to the kids apartment and sat for both wee ones so Laura could get a break and go get her nails done.
The dryer is spinning with my last load for my trip this week. Omaha and Des Moines. Yippee?

A late welcome...

Better late than never?

Olive was born on March 11th but has spent the past several weeks shaking that bad virus/cold that has been going around. After 8+ days in the hospital and a few days back at home getting used to being healthy it was time to introduce her to some of the family. Great Grandma & Grandpa, Dennis & Paula, Donna, Steve & Barb, Evan, Candace, Leslie and Ali showed up to welcome the little one on this cold and blustery April day.
Kim's family recipe for Chili warmed us all up.

The Good, Bad & the Ugly

Let's start off with the good. More like the FANTASTIC!!!
My dear friend Steve got his test results back... CANCER FREE!
Now understand he has dealt with Kidney, Prostate AND Bladder cancer, all caught in it's earliest stages and treated. God is waaay too good!

The Bad...
So how can I complain about a horrible show build in Dallas?
Not going too, let's just say we were short man power and the rest of us had to triple our work load including getting 20K lumen Christie projectors(130lbs+) up stadium seating stairs. Many opportunities for people to get hurt and we all stayed injury free. The show pulled off and that is all I have to say about that.

Now on to the ugly...
I have had been operating on so little sleep that my boss has given me the nickname of "Double Bagger" referring to my seemingly permanent bags under my eyes. I am home for 7 whole glorious days, now to make plans for a celebratory beer with Steve.

Friday night update...

The "Apolis leg" Minneapolis and Indianapolis this week.
Friday night, home and get to sit for the kids while the parents get a break and go out for dinner. Olive slept the whole time we were there so I turned to Amelia for entertainment. I felt it was time to teach her about Moose kisses. She's got it down after only one night of practice. That's my girl! Sucks to be Laura and Jim right now...HA!
